LostYears must really be losing it. I don't see why they would waste time on such a poor and rated poor show.

Don't trust other people. Watch a bit and see if you enjoy it. I did.

And if you like the franchise you have to have seen everything or others will make references you won't get. Instead, you'll be able to make quotes they don't get.

I have the other releases of the franchise and I did watch 2 eps of this show and dropped it. This show is not to my taste and I can see why on MAL and aniDB it is poorly rated.

100% this. Different shows appeal to different people. Groups choose shows that appeal to them. We watch what appeals to us.

It's crazy that in this day and age anybody still questions 'why' about anybody else's taste. We should already know we're not the same.

I agree completely about taste.  I think a lot of people miss opportunities when they rely on anything except their own taste and experience.  In this day and age there's no reason not to dl and see.

I would add I don't think you can judge a spin-off if you haven't seen the franchise, except to say it may not be interesting if you haven't watched the franchise. Most of the jokes in this spin-off so far are referencing material from previous seasons.

Another example of this is probably 'Fate Stay Night Goes Shopping and Cooks Dinner.'  Within the context of the franchise I enjoyed it.  Without the context, it would have been a grocery bag of confusing ingredients.

The grand truth is there are no "expert opinions" in anime anymore, except for everybody.

And no need of more experts than yourself thanks to cheap bandwidth and storage.

They used to serve a purpose in the Slow/Expensive age of ddl.  Not here and now.
